Ventnor Resources was formed in early 2010 to conduct exploration on a package of mining and exploration tenements in the Murchison region of Western Australia and the Mount Isa region of Queensland, prospective for copper, nickel, base metals and gold deposits.
The Company listed on the ASX on February 24th 2011 after raising $6,000,000 and has since completed a number of drilling programs on the Thaduna/Green Dragon copper project, located in the Doolgunna-Bryah Basin region of Western Australia. These programs led to the definition of a significant resource. In 2016, Ventnor completed a deal to sell Thaduna/Green Dragon to Sandfire Resources, owner of the nearby DeGrussa mine.
Ventnor’s other projects are at various stages, from advanced exploration to greenfields and are sufficiently prospective to warrant modern exploration.
Following the sale of Thaduna/Green Dragon, the primary focus has shifted to the Biranup Project, which is located north of AngloGold Ashanti and Independence Group’s Tropicana Gold Mine in the Albany-Fraser Belt. Ventnor has identified encouraging gold and copper-nickel prospects at Black Dragon, Fire Dragon, Silver Dragon and Red Dragon.
Recently the company has applied for more adjacent ground east of Tropicana with a combined contiguous holding of 340 km2.
The Ventnor Board possesses a wide range of technical and corporate skill and the appropriate management and technical experience to manage the planned exploration programs at Biranup Project and on its other properties. This has been demonstrated through the discovery of Thaduna/Green Dragon and its subsequent sale to Sandfire.
